Lance brings over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry to his role, offering extensive expertise in both personal (eg. home & contents, vehicle, boat & watercraft, and landlord insurance) and business insurance (eg. cyber security, general business, commercial motor vehicle, and professional indemnity insurance). His dedication to clients is evident in his thorough approach to ensuring comprehensive coverage.
With a background that includes studying Financial Management in Insurance at UNISA and co-owning a brokerage firm in South Africa, Lance ensures his clients receive tailored advice on how to protect their assets when the unexpected strikes. He also holds a New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5).
Since relocating to New Zealand with his wife and young son in 2017, Lance has been a valued member of the Threefold team, drawn to the company’s strong family values.
Outside the office, Lance juggles life with two young boys and maintains his active lifestyle through cricket. As a member of the Ellerslie Cricket Club (The Prunes), he enjoys contributing as a skilled batsman and occasional medium-paced bowler. A family man, Lance is happiest spending time with his family and friends whilst working the BBQ/braai.
Lance’s insurance career began in South Africa, where he built his expertise across personal and commercial lines before co-owning an insurance brokerage. That experience of running a brokerage, including managing client relationships, working with underwriters, and taking responsibility for the quality of advice provided, gave him a thorough grounding in what good insurance advice looks like in practice.
Since relocating to New Zealand in 2017, Lance has been part of the Threefold team, applying his international experience to the New Zealand insurance market. His dual-market background gives him a useful comparative perspective on how insurance products, pricing and risk are structured across different contexts.
